Friends, there’s nothing quite like Thanksgiving Day. It’s such a special time to gather around the table with friends & family, indulging on the foodie delights of the season. Of course, here at Shindig, we love adding those special touches to any festivity!

I’ve got two ideas up my sleeve for the perfect Thanksgiving place card to please the young & old around your table. With just a handful of supplies from Shindig, you’re sure to make your place setting extra sweet this holiday season.

Earlier in the year, I took a Calligraphy class from Janna, one of our favorite calligraphers, at the shop. She taught me the basics of calligraphy & since then, I’ve been using my new favorite skill to dress up gift tags, envelopes & more! I whipped out my calligraphy pen to address my place cards, but no fear! If you haven’t taken one of our Calligraphy classes quite yet (although we really think you should!), grab a nice pen or your handwriting-extraordinaire BFF to address your cards.

Our first place card idea is sure to please those that crave simple elegance. To impress the adults in your party, our wooden leaf cutouts paired with a kraft gift tag & earthy twine make the perfect place card.

To complete this look, simply write the name of your guest onto a kraft tag. Grab our fun leaf cutouts from the shop & punch a hole. Tie the pieces together with twine & place in the center of your plate.

For a bit of a whimsical look, our turkey place cards from Meri Meri are just the cutest for the kids at your table!

To get this look, lay out a paper runner on the table with a jar of colored pencils. Tie your silverware & linens with twine for a warm look. Grab our turkey place cards, write out each child’s name & place them at the center of each setting.

No matter the occasion, place cards are such a lovely way to add that personal touch to your gathering. We cannot wait to see just how you decorate your table this Thanksgiving!
